Collection and study of national data on Central Precocious Puberty

The MELIORA® platform was selected by Society of Paediatric Diabetology and Endocrinology (SPDE) as the technological and analytical solution to collect and study the national Central Precocious Puberty (CPP) data. The platform bundled a data collection tool customized to the needs of SPDE health professionals and information monitoring and statistical analysis tools, designed to provide real-time insights about the national CPP data. With the first statistical analysis, SPDE obtained new findings such as an increase in the body mass index after CPP treatment – a side effect not identified previously in scientific literature – and that image changes of the pituitary gland was more frequent in girls and less in boys.

“The MELIORA platform allowed us to collect and properly analyse national data on Central Precocious Puberty. The creation of easy-to-fill data platforms, accessible to specialized clinical centres, and the collaboration with technicians in the field of computer science and health statistics, are in my opinion essential tools for the development of clinical research in Portugal.”
