IPO Porto has selected PROLOGICA Healthcare to increase the safety of its radiation exposed patients and professionals through the development of a radiology passport.
The radiology passport is a solution designed to acquire, integrate, store, manage, analyse and disseminate information and insights in a unified environment, taking care of all the dosimetry of IPO Porto patients and professionals. This solution consists of an engine that extracts the data related to radiology/imaging tests through the PACS (available in DICOM format), an analytical engine for dosimetric calculations and a web application that allows the visualization and analysis of this information by different user profiles. The implementation of this project was an initiative of the IPO Porto, integrated in the context of the Odisseia project, to help its professionals to comply with the European guideline: EURATOM.
RESULTS
- Centralized information – Access, in a single solution, more information and insights about patients dosimetry;
- Operational and Clinical Efficiency – Manage clinical procedures in a timely manner contribute to improve its quality and performance;
- Increased user safety – Monitor patients radiation exposure over the years help to avoid risks from overexposure.
